I get asked this a lot

Can EMDR be done virtually?
Yes! Treatment outcomes with online EMDR have been highly successful.
What is the difference between KAP and ketamine infusion clinics?
Ketamine therapy follows a pharmaceutical model, ketamine is administered as a medication without psychotherapy to alleviate symptomatology. Infusion clinics and mail order at home ketamine treatment are examples of ketamine therapy. At Healing Towards Wholeness ketamine assisted psychotherapy is the model that is used. Treatments are held in a therapeutic setting and talk or other therapeutic modalities occur during and/or following the experience.
How much will KAP cost?
The course of ketamine treatment varies by individual. Preparation and integration sessions are $150, and KAP Sessions are $375. Insurance may cover preparation and integration sessions, depending on your insurance plan and benefits.
The number of sessions is individualized, some people experience relief after one session, and others complete an average of 3-6 KAP sessions.
In addition, you will need to complete a medical evaluation with a provider who collaborates with Healing Towards Wholeness. The cost is approximately $300 plus the cost of medicine which varies from $50 - $100.
If you would like to use insurance for KAP please reach out and I will be happy to discuss in more detail.
How many sessions of KAP will I need?
The number of sessions is individualized, some people experience relief after one session, and others complete an average of 3-6 KAP sessions.
Can I use my insurance to cover KAP?
Insurance may cover preparation and integration sessions, depending on your insurance plan and benefits. At this time insurance companies will not cover a three hour dosing session. However, insurance may be used to cover the first hour of ketamine assisted psychotherapy.
What are the risks and side effects of ketamine?
Ketamine is regarded as extremely safe and has been widely used as an anesthetic agent since its approval by the FDA in 1970. However, as with any medication, there are potential risks and side effects. These are typically mild and wear off within a few hours following treatment. These include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, disorientation, double or blurred vision, increased blood pressure and heart rate. You will be carefully screened for underlying medical concerns prior to taking Ketamine to ensure you are a good fit for this treatment.
What if I already have a therapist?
That is great, it is highly recommended that you continue on with long term therapy post-KAP treatments. KAP is often a short term treatment in which we will work together for preparation, medicine, and integration sessions. If you do not have a therapist we can work together to find you someone who may be a good fit.
